1982 - The Village Vanguard, New York, NY
Freddie Hubbard died today at the age of 70 after complications from a heart attack he suffered last month. He was a fantastic trumpet player with a distinctive sound, and played as a sideman on recordings with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy, among others. He also recorded over 40 sides as a leader, such as “Ready for Freddie” and “Hub-Tones.”---The Butter Room
I love Jazz.
