I wrote about these guys ages ago, but I had never seen their "Use Somebody" video till now which is kinda odd since its my favorite song of theirs and I have this weird obsession with music videos.

1982 - The Village Vanguard, New York, NY
Freddie Hubbard died today at the age of 70 after complications from a heart attack he suffered last month. He was a fantastic trumpet player with a distinctive sound, and played as a sideman on recordings with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy, among others. He also recorded over 40 sides as a leader, such as “Ready for Freddie” and “Hub-Tones.”---The Butter Room
I love Jazz.

In my company
Red Light Company
My office is empty and I wish it would snow, in the mean time, you could listen to an up and coming band from the UK. Teenage angst is wonderful.

Not beer pong
beirut. 22 year old Zach Condon. From Santa Fe. Indie Folk. Likes the trumpet and ukulele. Good stuff. I'm tired. Has Eastern European influences and is infused with awesomeness. No showtimes posted for '09 yet. Damn.

I might, kind of, maybe like Kayne's music
As much as I didn't wan't to promote Kayne West's new album 808's and Heartbreak but I just heard "Love Lockdown"...and I like it. I mean I've always been a fan, but after he said something about being the voice of our (my?) generation, I was disgusted. I apperciate his music, but talk about vain and narcissistic. There is no such thing as one person being the voice of a generation, but if there was, it would not be him. Honestly.

Reunion?
Several music sources say The Stone Roses are looking to reunite next year, with only one who still needs some convincing. Their front man, Ian Brown who is, I'd like to point out, a rather important part of the band.
John Squire (the guitarist) said on NME, "It's the ideal time to do it. It's something I would love to do before we are all fat and bald. Start the campaign."

Florence is a place I'd like to go
Kiss With a Fist - Florence and the Machine
She makes me want to dye my hair red again, and I'd just decided I liked the natural color.
Brief info: 21 year old Florence Welsch is a British musician. Headlining MGMT shows is sure to get her somewhere fast, as if she hasn't risen quickly already.
