Wierd Marriage
I'm sorry, but Ryan Adams to marry Mandy Moore? Is it just me or did this one come out of left field. Which almost makes it more believable. Then again, I don't like hearing that he wants to spend less time on shows, and more time with his fiance. Not that I'm against the 'more time with fiance' part. But, I love his shows. He's great! Then again, 'If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.'-Sheryl Crow

Lily and Lindsay
News from the rumor mill. Lily Allen and Lindsay Lohan may be working on a song together. For Mark Ronsen? Ofall the bad choices the two of them could make, honestly. It has the potential of being worse than, ' Nan, your a window shopper'... Than again, there's really no way this would actually happen, right?

The Perfect Venue
Levon Helm has the life. A musician in The Band and head of 'The Midnight Ramble'. What is 'The Midnight Ramble'? Well, its something, I kind want to keep to myself, but I'd burst if I tried. So, get ready to skim, becuase I can't say it better than what is already on the site.
'A gracious host, Levon invites you to his home studio in Woodstock, N.Y. The first thing you’ll notice, if you get there early enough, is the natural beauty of your surroundings. His property is set in the Catskill Mountains with a large lake not too far from the house, surrounded by lush, thick forest. There’s a serenity and peacefulness to the scene that’s contrasted later in the evening by music that will rock your soul, knock off your socks, and leave you grinning from ear to ear!
Inside “The Barn,” which is really a large recording studio attached to Levon’s home, you’ll see a stage, a cozy fireplace and plenty of seating. The ambiance of the place will give you a feeling that is personal and intimate, casual and friendly, and you know you are about to be part of something very special.
Levon has been in the business of making music for over forty years and if the walls of “The Barn” could talk, what stories they would tell! Music legends galore have played, jammed and recorded there and he is happily continuing that tradition. He based his Ramble Sessions on the southern medicine shows of his youth and has invited some of the most notable blues entertainers and musicians of our time to perform at The Rambles.
Once the show starts, get ready! Levon Helm and his fellow musicians play with such joy, energy and enthusiasm, you will find it difficult not to fly out of your seat! The show is not the usual hour-and-a-half that most entertainers provide at a concert. It runs about four hours and often, Levon will greet his guests personally. His genuine warmth and the sincere desire to share his talents and love of music make for an evening that is not just unique, but an experience you will find unforgettable. You will leave smiling and, like most of us, will want to come back for more. Looking forward to seeing you there!'

Diamonds
Marina and the Diamonds are a quirky indie/pop band with an appreciation for Vivienne Westwood. Which is all I need from them to win me over. Or from her, Marina, as the Diamonds don't seem to really exists. You could also read about how she punched a guy for trying to 'tip her keyboard'.
My kind of girl.

Mixtape
Too lazy to make your own mixtape? You're in luck! If you're the kind of person who prefers Sufjan Stevens to Matchbox 20 this is the mix cd for you. And it benefits charity!
Product Description: 'On the occasion of WORLD AIDS DAY today, December 1st a press announcement was made with the complete list of participating artists and cover art for the upcoming 4AD
release Dark Was The Night. Dark Was The Night will be released on February 17th, 2009. Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National produced the album, and John Carlin, the founder of the Red Hot
Organization was the executive producer. A total of 31 exclusive tracks have been recorded for the compilation. It will be available as a double cd/triple viny and will benefit the Red Hot Organization - an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV
and AIDS. Red Hot was founded on the premise that even without a cure, AIDS remains a preventable disease and music is a great vehicle to raise money and awareness for it.
Dark Was The Night began three years ago with a casual conversation between Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National and John Carlin. In discussing the project, they agreed it made sense not to do a "theme" album per se; but something that showcased the bast in independent music, with an emphasis on traditional themes played and arranged in a contemporary way, and on songwriting, which is the strength of many of the artists featured here. As Aaron and Bryce started inviting their peers to contribute, their intuition about the pro-social disposition of so many of them was confirmed. As a result, 31 exclusive tracks were recorded. '
Cool, yeah?

Killing Me Softly
Saw a commercial for About a Boy and couldn't get this out of my head all night (not a bad thing). The Fugees were a hip-hop group from NJ, back when hip-hop was still a genre and Wyclef Jean (yes, he was one of them) wasn't aware that 'Hips Don't Lie'. Other members are Lauryn Hill and Pras Michael.

New Music
Maharaba Tenneb sounds like a name that would get you strip searched in an airport. Lets hope the name's owner has had better luck. Perhaps a rising star or perhaps just a wonderful addition to your music library. The jury's out on this one folks.
Williams
Andre Williams. Kinda cool pretty fascinating and now, the star of a documentary. Its called Agile, Mobile, Hostile and it follows the life of country/punk blues musician Andre Williams. If you've got the time he's lived an incredible life and its worth watching.

In other news
Not to shamelessly plug another blog, I happen to read discodust quite often and I noticed something today that made me smile at the bottom of their posts right above comments it says,"in other news: disabled comments are the new 'shut the fuck up'. "i don't care what you say" is the new 'fuck you'. everlasting love is the new ungrateful hate." Ah, nice right? I'm applaud them for being so direct even though I'm also the first person to gag at the words everlasting love.
Re-united and it feels so good
Blur re-uniting?! Yes, exciting it is. They are another brilliant thing that came out of 1989, in addition to me. And they are getting back for the first time in eight years to play two shows in Londen's Hyde Park. Fucking Londen you taunt me. Maybe being back together will spark something. Like a real tour. One that leaves the UK.

Empire of The Sun
I'd say they are the spawn of Ozone, Daft Punk and MGMT (except, to give them their dues, they werw around before MGMT). However I'm a fan of their odd psychedelic electronic sound.

Facing Assault Charges
Chris Brown is being investigated for an assault charge. The claim is that he got into an argument with a women and attacked her. Read the story from NME.
I'm generally one to believe that the woman's just playing this out, but I don't know much about the guy so who can say. Maybe he just got inspired by Christian Bale's outburst.
