I'm sorry, its been ages since I last posted. Right now I'm listening to Lady Gaga. Yes, it took her getting famous an publicized for me to listen to her, but I'm so glad she was. Her most recent album was Just Dance, fear. the single "Just Dance".
I was going to tell you what my favorite song of hers was, but forget that, just watch the video.

Maggie Stern
Kinda High pitched and screechy, but in a lovable way. If you like that sort of music. Maggie Stern creates chaotic alternative music with occasional bouts of normality via melodic guitar solos. But don't take my word for. Listen for yourself. She just came out with a new album this year that is self titled.

Edie?
Ok, who has heard about Edie sedgwick coming back to life in the form of a transgendered musician? Thoughts?? I couldn't find the tracks, but you can hit up her (?) myspace page. Frankly if the music's good, I couldn't really care less about the artist, but I just don't know about these tracks. She's on the borderline for me, between brillancy and insanity. Course, I've never been one to bag on insanity....

Personal Pick
The Flobots. Brief history/info.: They are an alternative rock/hip hop group from Denver Colorado. (Correct me if I'm off) They've released two albums, Onomatopoeia and Fight With Tools. Their Label is Universal Republic who is also the label for Afroman, 3 Doors Down, John Mellencamp, Rehab and (of course) about 50 more. I rather like them, hope they come out with more music soon! You can read a recent interview that they had with Absolute Punk here. Also, they are a cool looking bunch :) My two favorite songs are "Handlebars" and "Mayday!"

Tribute
I heard an absolutely beautiful version of "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" earlier today. And so a tribute, to the original. Except that I can't find a good link to the original song. Sorry. Instead, my personal favorite, "Stairway to Heaven" which cover bands always ruin. Nothing like the original.

M.M.
Mitch Mitchell, the drummer for the Hendrix Experiance, was found dead at the age of 61 early this morning. Read the full story at Spin.com.
Here's on of my personal favorites. And I will give credit where credit's due, I never would have gotten into Jimi Hendrix if it hadn't been for my father. Does that give away his age more or mine?

Overcoming the Past
According to Spin.com Leona Naess and Ryan Adams have gotten together again, this time prfessionally, to produce the song "Leave Your Boyfriends Behind (feat. Ryan Adams)". You can read the article here.
Ryan Adams is currently on tour with the Cardinals, check out his tour dates. Leona Naess recently put out a new album, Heavy Like Sunday. The single, "Heavy Like Sunday" is featured on it, and the music video is, as much as I despise the word, adorable. And sweet, with a barely perceptible "everything will be ok" message, you can catch if you listen to the lyrics.

The Kills
With OK! Magazine saying that Ed Westwick may be dating Allison Mosshart and Jamie Hince getting so much coverage for being hot 'n heavy with Kate Moss, I thought I'd give them some coverage of my own. U.R.A. Fever.
They came out with a new album last March. It's called Midnight Boom.
A taste of their most recent album.

We Started Nothing (I Swear)
Listen, Listen, Listen!!! If you haven't heard the new Ting Tings album, listen! Its great. Katie White's voice has this raw sweetly harsh quality, like the girl across the room who smiles and winks at you before flipping her hair and jumping on the lap of the vaguely Brad Pittish looking man(who also happens to be twice your size).

Wonderwall
In a recent interview in Spin with Liam Gallagher's brother Noel Gallagher of Oasis said that Ryan Adams is the only one who who ever did Wonderwall right. I can't say I fully agree, however I have always loved (and perhaps preferred) Ryan's version. If you haven't heard it...

Got a cure?
Ida Maria, a Norwegian pop singer who's a hit in Europe. Her debut Fortress Round My Heart is full of throaty punk/pop tracks. Fun Fact: She has a condition called synaethesia which makes makes her see colors when she hears sounds. Look it up, i think it may be the coolest affliction ever.

... and keying cars.
Close your eyes and just listen to her voice, its got this amazing deep soulful ring to it. She's been cosigned by Missy Elliot. Plus who can't sympathize with revenge. Destroying stuff is fun. Jazmine Sullivan.

I say Yea!
Yeasayer. I knew about them all along. (Psh, and a roll of the eyes) Honestly. However, I'm feel as though they are getting more press now that they have toured with MGMT. A little indie, a little trancie. Btw, the dictionary doesn't recognize trancie, nor does it look in any way shape or form correct. Mispelling?, or does Webster need to update itself.
